Payment and prices

How do I pay?

The William Chambers Hat Shop is powered by Paypal - this is the preferred payment method.

If you wish to pay by cheque, please note that it must clear before shipping. Please make your cheque payable to ‘William Chambers Millinery‘. Please write your name, address and corresponding card number on the back of the cheque and post to William Chambers Millinery, 180 West Regent St, Glasgow, G2 4RW.

All prices are shown in GBP (£ Sterling)

The price includes VAT, please note that we are not responsible for customs or import duties.

Paying by gift voucher

If you have a gift voucher and want to spend it online, please contact us to place your order.

Postage / Shipping

UK: £9 to £25 post and packaging, which includes a hat box. See the product page where the price is given.

EU and Worldwide: Please email your order to william_chambers@hotmail.com and we will advise you of the shipping cost. We will invoice you via Pay Pal. Please note that we are not responsible for customs tax or import duties.

Packaging: Your hat will be wrapped in tissue paper within a hat box and shipped in a sturdy box to protect the hat box. Smaller headpieces will get appropriate packaging to protect them.

How long will my order take?

All orders are handmade upon receipt of the order. All UK orders take 10 days to 6 weeks and the rest of the world 4 to 6 weeks.

This is a guideline, we strive to produce and ship the pieces as quick as we can. If you require your hat by a specific date please contact us before ordering.

When you place your order you will receive a confirmation email of this, with a follow up email when it has been shipped.

Sizing:

What sizes are available?

The availability of different sizes on each hat is given on the product description. When placing your order please select your size in the pull down menu (where applicable). All sizes are shown in inches, please see the conversion table below.
If the hat is not available in a smaller size, it can be made with sizing inserted into the band. If you require this please reply to our confirmation email asking for sizing to be included (there is no extra charge).s glasgo

How to measure your head:

Take a measuring tape and place it around the circumference of the head, starting at your forehead just above your brow. Keep the tape held fairly closely to the head (but not too tight) slightly above the ears and over the prominent bone at the back of your head. If you don’t have a tape measure, then use a piece of string or wool to measure around your head and then check the length using a ruler or other measure.

Pieces made on wire bands:

Wire band are hand shaped and very comfortable to wear, they work with your head shape and rarely pinch the bone behind your ears. In most cases the colour of the wire band will be made in black, they can be produced in a blonde, brown and grey. If you require blonde, brown or grey please reply to our confirmation email to ask for this (no extra charge).

Pieces made using elastic:

Using elastic when wearing a headpiece can give you flexibility on where you position it on your head. In most cases it will be made in black.

Colours:

Please be aware that colours may not be a true representation on your screen as this varies on different computer monitors. If you are looking to match a colour and you have a fabric/colour sample please send it to William Chambers Millinery, 180 West Regent street, Glasgow, G2 4RW (If you wish the sample back, please include a stamped addressed envelope).

Refunds and exchanges:

All hats and headpieces are made to order for you, so in most cases refunds and exchanges are not available.
In the unlikely event of the product being faulty we will offer you a replacement.

Cancellations / Changes to your order:

In most cases it is not possible to cancel your order as all hats and headpieces are made to order for you.
In most cases once you place your order and work has begun, no changes can be made.
In the unlikely event that a product / material becomes unavailable after you place you order we will inform you of this and we can discuss alternatives and new delivery dates.

Bespoke designs:

If you wish to have a hat or headpiece that is not available in the shop, please call or email to discuss.
